I like to give others insight into financial products and services that are hard to comprehend. Financial matters aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. Which is why you might distance yourself from something you work hard for and is such an important part of your life. But in doing so you directly or indirectly give free rein to the government, financial institutions and advisors to make the decisions about your financial life for you. More knowledge and better insight into this topic often lead to a better overview, well informed decisions and more control over your finances.
I have gained extensive experience and expertise in the financial, organizational and administrative field during my career with the government as a civil servant, in business and with social organizations. Following my primary study I took courses in in mortgage planning, Nibud budget coaching and several other mandatory professional courses in accordance with the Financial Markets Supervision Act (WFT). Every year I take retraining courses and in 2018 I completed the specialized training ‘Family Law’, which focusses on matters concerning matrimonial property law and inheritance law.
I have worked in the financial service industry since 1996 taking on positions such as mortgage advisor and financial planner. In The Hague I have set up and managed a new and specialized mortgage advice office together with a large NVM real estate agency. But over time I felt more drawn to providing information and giving advice rather than selling financial products. In the end I decided to concentrate fully on providing information, advice and financial planning, without this having to result in product sales.
